— interior painting cost in Brampton

Interior painting Brampton, priced by the foot.

priced per sq ft of floor area, never a flat guess

Below is the whole rate card — four packages, one published rate each, all against floor area rather than wall area. It is the same card we quote from in Mississauga, fifteen minutes away.

PackageWhat is paintedMaterialsWarrantyPer sq ft of floor area
Fresh StartWalls, two coatsContractor-grade2 years$2.35–2.75
Full RefreshWalls and ceilings, in dedicated ceiling paintMid-grade2 years$3.30–3.70
Complete Home ⭐ most chosenWalls, ceilings, baseboards and window casingsMid-grade2 years$4.60–5.10
Signature FinishAll of the above, with enhanced preparation and high-detail workPremium-grade2 yearsfrom $5.50

Lower end: vacant home, standard 8' ceilings, light/similar colours, normal condition. Upper end: occupied home, 9'+ ceilings, stronger colour changes, additional cutting/preparation.

Doors with frames, both sides — $150–225 each, any package. Doors sit outside all four packages and are counted per door, because a house with fifteen of them is a different job from a house with five.

2-year workmanship warranty on every package — the same two years whether you book walls only or the whole interior. Materials are specified by grade rather than by brand; the exact product and the colour codes go on the written specification before anyone opens a can.

Minimum project in Brampton: $750. There is no travel line on the invoice and there never will be: the rates above are the same everywhere we work, and the minimum is the one thing distance changes.

Most of Brampton is newer detached and semi-detached stock, which means builder-grade flat paint on the walls and a great deal of trim: baseboards, casings and, very often, an open-to-above stairwell. The stairwell is the part people forget to price, and it is the part that decides whether a quote was serious. We cut it in by brush, which is slow, deliberate work and is included in the package rather than discovered later.

Every quote is firm, written, and back with you inside 48 hours. Anything that changes it is agreed before work starts, never added afterwards.

Run against the rates above, the common Brampton sizes come out like this:

  • A 1,500 sq ft townhouse — walls only (Fresh Start) $3,525–4,125; walls, ceilings and trim (Complete Home) $6,900–7,650.
  • An 1,800 sq ft semi — walls only (Fresh Start) $4,230–4,950; walls, ceilings and trim (Complete Home) $8,280–9,180.
  • A 2,400 sq ft detached home — walls only (Fresh Start) $5,640–6,600; walls, ceilings and trim (Complete Home) $11,040–12,240.

Each of those is the published rate multiplied by the floor area, which is why every one is a range rather than a single number — you can repeat the arithmetic yourself. Doors are counted on top, at $150–225 each, and the figures are before HST.

The whole rate card, including what is counted per piece, is on our interior painting page, and the Ontario cost breakdown takes each figure apart. Brampton is part of Peel Region, next to interior painting in Mississauga.

— what we paint in Brampton

Brampton homes we paint.

the type of home changes how we approach the job
Post-2000 builder homes
Mount Pleasant, Sandalwood Heights, Credit Valley & Castlemore — flat builder white that scuffs; repaint in a washable finish.
Older Brampton (1960s–80s)
Bramalea, Heart Lake & Brampton West — texture, older trim profiles, layers of past paint. More prep, priced honestly.
Downtown & heritage core
Pre-war & early-century houses — plaster walls, original woodwork, careful prep and the right primer.
Basements & secondary suites
Common locally — finished basements and rental units, including repaints between tenants.
New-build repaints
One of our most common Brampton jobs — builder flat white in a washable finish, room by room or all at once.
Every surface
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and baseboards — a single room or a whole-home repaint.

About 45% of Brampton's homes were built after 2000 — most still wear the original builder flat that rarely covers in a single coat. We quote yours after a walkthrough, prep and all, with no surprises mid-project.

03
— what makes Brampton different

Next door. No travel fee.

a short drive from our Mississauga base

No travel fee

Some painters add a surcharge for work outside their immediate area. Brampton is inside ours — directly north of our Mississauga base — so the quote you get holds, as long as the house matches what we were shown.

Faster scheduling

Short drive time means we can fit these projects together and start sooner. It also means we can come back quickly for a touch-up if one is ever needed under warranty.

We know the local housing

The post-2000 subdivisions were built by a handful of large builders using similar layouts, textures and trim — so we usually quote accurately from one walkthrough, without surprises mid-project.

Access & protection

Many newer Brampton homes have narrow driveways and tight garage setbacks. We plan loading and floor coverage around that, so the work stays clean and your entryway stays protected.

Painting in Brampton: what's different here

Brampton homes are big, full and busy, and that shapes a repaint more than any paint chart does. A typical project here is a four- or five-bedroom house where three generations live under one roof: someone works nights, someone studies for exams, a kitchen never really closes. Painting a home like that is choreography — the job is split into zones, bedrooms are emptied and returned the same day, and the order of rooms is negotiated around the household rather than around our convenience. A painter who shows up with a one-room-at-a-time mindset and no plan for a living, breathing house will be in everyone's way by Tuesday.

The architecture adds its own list. Newer Brampton plans favour double-door entries with two-storey ceilings, family rooms open to the hallway above, and staircases with oak handrails over painted spindles and stringers — surfaces where brush control is on permanent display and where the white must match from the ground floor to the upper hall. Bedroom counts run high, which means door counts run high, and since every door and closet is its own line, the door tally changes a Brampton quote more than it would in a smaller town. Colour requests run bolder here too — deep feature walls in living rooms, warm saturated dining rooms — and those shades are planned with tinted primers and an extra coat rather than discovered mid-job.

Downstairs, the basement usually has a future: a suite for parents, a rental, or both in sequence. Painting one is less about colour than about durability and repeatability — surfaces that wipe clean, one recorded colour so touch-ups between occupants are invisible, and a finish schedule that does not need redoing when the space changes hands. Where the basement is heading toward a registered second unit, paint is the final trade in the door, after the serious construction is inspected and closed.

04
— how a Brampton project works

Five steps. Same on every job.

most Brampton homes: one to four days

Every project follows the same five steps: an on-site walkthrough and written quote, surface preparation, priming, two finish coats, and a final cleanup and walkthrough with you. We protect floors, fixtures and furniture before any paint is opened, and clean up at the end of each day rather than leaving the site rough. The full step-by-step process — including how we handle colour selection — is on our main interior painting page.

— common questions

Brampton painting FAQ.

asked all the time
tap any question to expand

Do you charge a travel fee for interior painting in Brampton?

No. Brampton is inside our regular service area, since we're based in Mississauga just to the south, so there's no travel surcharge. The quote covers the work itself.

How much do painters in Brampton charge?

It depends on the size of the home and how much of it you want painted. Fresh Start is $2.35–2.75 per square foot of floor area for walls in two coats; Full Refresh is $3.30–3.70 and adds the ceilings; Complete Home is $4.60–5.10 and adds baseboards and window casings; Signature Finish starts at $5.50 and is quoted individually. Doors with frames are not part of any package — they are $150–225 each, counted per door. The minimum project in Brampton is $750. Because homes here run from compact townhouses to large detached houses, the accurate number comes from a walkthrough, and you get a firm written quote within 48 hours. Before HST.

I searched "painters near me" — are you a local Brampton painter?

Effectively, yes. We're based in Mississauga, directly south of Brampton — most of the city is a 20-to-30-minute drive. If you searched for house painters in Brampton and mostly found out-of-town contractors or quotes that change once work starts, the difference here is a painter who prices the whole job up front and stays local for warranty touch-ups.

Can you paint a Bramalea or Heart Lake home with textured ceilings?

Yes. Many homes in Bramalea, Heart Lake and the older west end from the 1960s to 1980s have textured ceilings. We can repaint them, or smooth them first as a separate job. Either way, the prep is itemized in your quote.

Do you paint basement apartments and rental units in Brampton?

Yes. Finished basements and secondary suites are common in Brampton, and repainting between tenants is a regular job for us. We can work around an occupied upstairs and keep the unit turnaround tight.

How long does an interior painting project take in a Brampton home?

Most homes take one to four days. A single-room repaint can be done in a day, while a full detached-home repaint in Castlemore or Credit Valley is usually three to four. Prep on older homes adds time, and we tell you that up front.

Do you do house painting on new-build Brampton homes in their builder finish?

Yes, and it's one of our most common jobs in the city. Builder flat white covers poorly and scuffs fast. We repaint new homes in Mount Pleasant, Sandalwood Heights and Credit Valley in a washable finish, room by room or all at once.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry liability insurance. We're a small, owner-run operation — additional skilled help is brought in only when project scope requires it, so you deal directly with the person doing the work.

What paint do you use?

Grade is what we specify; the brand is an implementation detail, since lines in the same grade perform within a few percent of each other. Contractor-grade covers Fresh Start walls, mid-grade covers Full Refresh and Complete Home, and premium-grade comes with Signature Finish. Ceilings are done in ceiling paint throughout. Where a hallway carries three generations of traffic, that grade question is worth asking before the first coat, not after.

Can you paint the house in stages while everyone is living here?

Yes — that is the normal Brampton job. The house is split into zones agreed in advance, each zone is emptied, painted and handed back before the next begins, and bedrooms are turned around inside a day. Sleep schedules, shift work and exam weeks go into the plan before the first drop sheet, not after.

Who paints the spindles and stringers on our staircase?

We do, by brush, and it is slow, deliberate work: each spindle has four faces, the stringers meet stained treads at a line that has to stay razor clean, and the enamel needs an overnight between coats. It is quoted as its own item so the effort is visible instead of buried in a lump sum.

We want a deep burgundy dining room. What does that involve?

A tinted primer matched to the shade, then two finish coats, sometimes a third on the sunniest wall. Deep colours cover slowly and telegraph any wall flaw, so the surface is patched and sanded first. Done in that order the colour reads rich and even; done without the primer it reads patchy for years.
